100km for Q TEAM ROW EVENT

On December 4, 2021 we are honoured to be hosting a fundraiser event with our good pal and longtime Taranis Athlete, Mike Sanborn.

Mike will be rowing 100.3km on an erg to raise funds for the Lumara Grief and Bereavement Care Society in honour of his dear friend Quentin Liedtke.

The Lumara Society is a charitable organization that helps children, youth, adults & families cope with serious illness, grief, and bereavement.  The event is being held in memory of Quentin Liedtke, a local Victoria BC resident, brother, husband, and father.  Quentin’s journey with glioblastoma, an incurable and aggressive brain cancer, started in August of 2019 – just 3 weeks after the birth of his second daughter.  For sixteen months he fought with courage and hope, eventually losing his battle on December 27th, 2020 with his wife Sarah by his side.

Please visit www.100kmforQ.com to learn more.

We would like to invite teams of 4-6 athletes per team, to join us on Dec 4, 2021 to complete either 60km(distance from Victoria to Duncan) or 100km(distance from Victoria to Nanaimo) as a team. Mike will be on the rower somewhere between 7-8 hours, rowing the 100km distance himself. Our goal is to have teams doing their part to help raise funds for the Lumara Society leading into the event date and then row with Mike, providing support and encouragement for the duration of his row.

We will be accepting 13 local teams to participate in house at Taranis. We would love to invite off location and out of town teams to participate as well. The registration form allows for the specifics of your location, please be sure to let us know

Interested in submitting a team? Please use this registration form to snap up your spot!

Registration NOW OPEN. Final day to submit team registration will be Sept 30/21.

Want to participate but need a team? Fill out the registration form! We will do our best to partner athletes looking to participate with a team.

Don’t want to row? That’s ok, we still need your support!

If you would like to support Mike, a team or specific team member in their fundraising efforts, please make your financial contribution here and be sure to put the athlete or team name you are specifically supporting in the DEDICATION text box built into the donation form. WHY does this matter? Because we are a group of crazy CrossFit athletes that love to compete all the time and the team that raises the most money wins a prize!!
