Myriam Barreda

Competitive Development / Crossfit Coach / On-line Coach / Personal Coaching
Myriam is a dynamo package! She stands at 5’2″ on a tall day and yet can pull over double her bodyweight in a deadlift. She knows a thing or 2 about training, dedication, recovery and focus. We affectionately call her Burrito as a play on her last name and the fact that she is always cold and wrapped up looking like a little burrito!  Her athletic history is packed with a variety of sport but her focus was on soccer and field hockey. As a field hockey athlete Myriam played for Team BC winning the National Championship and joined the UVic Vikes squad and played for the BC Summer Games Team. After retiring from the field, Myriam found her way into our gym and instantly showed potential as a CrossFit athlete and with the barbell as and weightlifting athlete. Myriam was one of our Team athletes winning us 3rd place in the world at the CrossFit Games in 2011 and took silver at the provincial competition for weightlifting in 2013-2014 and has been on various podiums as a part of our teams over the years. Myriam has a Bachelor of Science in biology and psychology and all kinds of coaching, movement and weightlifting certifications. She is an incredible technician with movement and correct technique and has developed her own set of cues to coach a wide variety of athletes.
