Typically called PT Steve and is well known for his heavy metal air guitar rock outs and his sense of humor. Steve is self-described as a pretty simple cat, and by cat, he means a lion. He really wants to be a lion. While he can be laid back, Steve is incredibly passionate about his own personal goals and the goals of our clients. He is inspired by people who work hard everyday to put the time and effort into reaching their goals. This is also a standard Steve holds him self to both as a Coach and an athlete. Steve is the head programmer for Taranis and the Floor Operations Manager. If he hands out burpees, you have likely earned it for being messy or leaving gear out!

Steve’s athletic achievements have him accomplishing top rankings and carry over into sharing his knowledge as a coach. In 2007, he competed in the Mas Oyama world tournament in Tokyo Japan for Kyokushin Karate. He achieved his black belt in Kyokushin Karate in 2007 and went on to teach karate to adults and children.

Steve started Crossfit in July of 2008. As an Individual CrossFit Competitor, his Canada West Regional placings have been 13th in 2009, 7th in 2010, 4th in 2011, 3rd in 2012 and 8th in 2014. He also placed 1st in Taranis Winter Challenge in 2011 and 2nd in the Taranis Titan Challenge in 2013. Steve was a member of Team Taranis at the 2014 and 2015 Reebok CrossFit Games. Steve has been a CrossFit Coach since 2010 and his qualifications include CrossFit Level 2, CrossFit Nutrition, CrossFit Power Lifting, CrossFit Weighting, NCCP Weight Lifting, just to name a few. Steve is constantly adding to his knowledge toolbox by doing seminars, workshops and certifications.

PT Steve can often be spotted at Big Wheel eating a double bacon cheese burger. Don’t bother asking for a bite, he won’t share, he has gains to make!
