HYROX is a global fitness race for Every Body. a circuit-style race consisting of 8 functional movement stations, with 1 kilometer of running before each.

The HYROX race format tests both running & weighted movements, where participants run 1km, followed by 1 functional workout station, repeated eight times.
A HYROX event is always the same format, so it’s a repeatable test. They are hosted globally, indoors in large arenas and exhibition halls. This environment makes for an immersive and electrifying experience, where your spectators can support you from the very beginning to the very end.
This race format allows for global leaderboards & a cumulative World Championships at the end of each race season.
Inclusive divisions accommodate both professional athletes and everyday fitness enthusiasts looking to test their training, making a HYROX competition accessible to everyone.

At Taranis, we know the best way to train for HYROX! Take the strength and conditioning methodology of CrossFit, layer in extra focused endurance work, and then practice the HYROX-specific circuit of movements and pacing strategy. That combination sets you up for success both in training and on race day.
If you’re new to CrossFit, it’s important to understand that the adaptation of CrossFit is work capacity; moving load, moving your body, and developing strength and conditioning across a broad spectrum of time domains, skills, and physical demands.
HYROX tests strength and endurance in a very predictable manner. We have designed our HYROX classes at Taranis to serve the HYROX format by removing many of the complex movements used in our CrossFit classes. and then increasing the use of sandbags, sleds, prowlers, and kettle bells to simulate the HYROX race demands.
We run HYROX-specific programming on Fridays and Sundays. See the next drop-down for specific details.

Members of Taranis Athletics CrossFit programs, you have the Friday HYROX classes included in your membership for attendance, and you can purchase a Sunday HYROX drop-in for a reduced rate in the membership app.
